HOW IT WORKS

Anyone can make a pick. Anyone can talk a big game. RECEIPTS is the app that remembers which one you actually did — and makes sure your league never forgets it either.

Make your picks. Talk your shit. Keep the receipts. Here's exactly how it all works.

Getting In

Sign in with a magic link — no password, just your email. First time here, you'll set a username (this is your public identity everywhere), optionally add your real name, and tell us your college and pro affiliations.

From your home screen, start a league or join one with an invite code.

The Picks

Every week during the regular season, you make picks against the spread on that week's college football slate.

  • Each game shows both teams — away and home — with the spread for each side. Once team stats have accumulated enough for the matchup, you'll also see a quick record/streak line right on the card.
  • Tap Team stats for the full breakdown on either team.
  • Not sure? Tap 🎓 Ask The Professor — it looks at the real numbers and gives you a short, honest take. Free tier: 20 questions a week.
  • Your pick counter tracks how many you've selected. Submit when you're done.
  • Once games start, picks lock. No changes, no backing out.

Postseason works differently — see below.

Confidence Ranking — A Game Within the Game

If your commissioner turns this on, picking winners isn't enough — you also have to rank your picks by how sure you are, and that ranking becomes its own competition.

How it works: rank your picks 1 through however many your league makes each week (5, most likely). Each rank number is the point value if that pick wins — and zero if it doesn't. You can only use each rank once per week, so putting your highest confidence on one game means you can't hedge by also putting it on another.

Why this matters: two people can go 4-for-5 in the exact same week and end up with completely different scores, depending on which pick they got wrong.

Worked example — a 5-pick week:

GamePickRankResultPoints
AOhio State -3.55 (most confident)Won5
BOregon -6.54Won4
CGeorgia -10.53Lost0
DTexas -2.52Won2
EMichigan +6.51 (least confident)Won1

Total: 4-for-5, 12 points out of a possible 15. If that same loss had landed on the rank-1 pick instead, the record would still be 4-for-5 — but the score would be 14, not 12. Same record, different outcome, and now there's a real reason to argue about it.

This is off by default — plenty of people don't want the added pressure of publicly ranking their confidence (or the fear of jinxing a pick by ranking it too high). If your league has it on, you'll see the ranking control right on the Picks page. Regular season only — postseason has its own version.

Postseason — Different Rules

Once your league hits bowls and playoffs, the picks format changes:

  • You pick every game that week — there's no 5-pick limit like the regular season.
  • Each game, choose spread or total — not both. Every bowl game gives you two ways in: the spread, or the over/under on combined points. Pick whichever you want per game — take the spread on one, the total on the next, mix freely across your whole slate.
  • A push is still a push. If a total lands exactly on the number, or a spread lands exactly on the line, it grades as a push either way — no win, no loss.

If your commissioner turns on postseason confidence (its own separate setting from regular-season confidence — off by default), scoring works differently here too: instead of ranking every pick uniquely, each pick gets sorted into one of three tiers:

  • Lock — 3 points if correct
  • Confident — 2 points if correct
  • Coin Flip — 1 point if correct

Unlike regular-season ranking, tiers aren't unique — you can call as many picks a "Lock" as you actually believe in. It's built for a slate with a lot more games, where forcing a strict 1-through-N ranking would be more busywork than anyone actually wants.

Scoreboard

Shows the current week — every game your league has picks on, everyone's pick, the spread, and the result once it's final: a clean W, L, or PUSH. Updates automatically as games go live — no need to refresh.

Standings

  • Weekly — pick any week, see how everyone did.
  • Season — your league's running total. If your commissioner has postseason set to "Separate," you'll also get a Regular / Postseason / Total toggle right here.
  • All-time — history across every year your league's been running.
  • Head-to-head — your record against any other player, counting only games where you picked opposite sides.
  • Badges and Awards — see below.

The Heckle Board

  • Post to General or target a specific person — either way, it's public. No DMs.
  • Choose AI Heckle (generates a roast, editable, hit Regenerate for a different one) or My Words.
  • React to any post — 🔥 😂 💀. Once your league starts reacting, a Top Clout leaderboard shows up too.
  • Your commissioner controls how often the app itself calls people out, from Light Heckle to Full Receipts.

Badges

Earned, not given — and some of them aren't compliments.

  • Called It — Took the underdog, and it covered big.
  • Stone Cold — Your highest-confidence pick of the week came through.
  • Perfect Week — 5-for-5.
  • Saw It Coming — Called it before everyone else did.
  • Certified Fraud — Talked a big game, lost anyway.
  • Big Mouth — Way more comments than correct picks.
  • Professional Hindsight Analyst — Always shows up right after the results post.

Players

Everyone in your league — name, affiliations, and any season awards. Nothing yet? The season isn't over.

Settings

  • Profile — username, optional real name, and which one shows publicly.
  • Affiliations — your college and pro teams.
  • Notifications — reactions, system callouts, pick reminders, invites, commissioner messages. All optional.
  • Your Leagues and Players — quick links.

For Commissioners

  • Heckle intensity — Light, Heavy, or Full Receipts. Tiers are cumulative — Full Receipts includes everything Light and Heavy trigger, plus more.
  • Confidence ranking — on or off.
  • Postseason confidence tiers — a separate on/off from regular-season confidence ranking, for the Lock/Confident/Coin Flip mechanic postseason picks use instead.
  • Postseason handling — cumulative (one running total straight through) or separate (two totals that never merge — switch between them on the Standings page).
  • Invite by email, mute members, message privately, mark games postponed, and close the season to lock in permanent awards.

Make the pick. Own the take. RECEIPTS remembers either way.
